TEXT: MARGE SIMPSON

MARGE SIMPSON

Hi kids! My name is Marge Simpson and I live with my family in Springfield, USA. I am thirty three years old. My husband’s name is Homer and we have got three beautiful children: one son and two daughters.
I am a housewife. I clean the house everyday. I prepare the meals, wash the dishes, iron the clothes, go shopping and look after little Maggie, which is my favourite hobby. She is a cute baby and she likes crawling all around the house and playing cubes. She sucks her red pacifier all the time.
In my free time, I often meet my two sisters and we have tea. They smoke a lot and I tell them that it is bad for their health. I also go for a walk in a park nearby. When it is cold outside, I light a fire in the chimney and set about solving crosswords and word-searches but what I like best is to stay at home and share every single minute with my family. If you ever visit Springfield, I can prepare a delicious apple tart for you.

TEXT: ABRAHAM SIMPSON

ABRAHAM SIMPSON

Hi kids! My name is Abraham Simpson but people call me grandpa. I was born in Wales eighty four years ago but I moved to USA when I was a little boy. As you can see I have got lots of wrinkles. I am one of the oldest people in my town.

When I became older, I met my wife Mona. She was a hippie and condemned social injustices. She was so rebel that she had to abandon the country. We got married and we had a son whose name is Homer. Now I have got three loving grandchildren and a fantastic daughter in law.
In my adulthood, I was a brave soldier in the two world wars. It was a hard experience for me.

Today, I am living in an old people’s home. I have a quiet life there but it is really boring. I usually play cards with my friends, look through the window for a long time or I just wait for the telephone ringing. Sometimes  I take care of my grandaughter Maggie. People say that I am a bit clumsy because I often forget things, stubborn and that I fall asleep easily.

  • Perceba

  • Alguns  exemplos:
We drink coffee every day.                He drinks  coffee every day.
[Nósbebemos café todo dia.]             [Ele bebe café todo dia.]
Mark and Luke read comic books.  She reads  the newspaper.
[Marke Luke lêem gibis.]                   [Ela lê o jornal.]
You eat vegetables.                             It eats  vegetables.
[Vocês comem legumes.]                     [Ele(a) come legumes.]
I have two sisters.                   Jane has two sisters.
[Eu tenho duas irmãs.]             [Jane tem duas irmãs.]
They have a green shirt.         Donald has a blue shirt.

para a terceira pessoa do singular (he, she, it):
I go to the park every Sunday.    My mother goes  to the beach every Friday.
[Vou ao parque todo domingo.]    [Minha mãe vai à praia toda sexta-feira.]

[Você lava seu carro.]    [Ele lava a bicicleta dele.]

[Eles consertam carros.]   [Ele conserta motos e bicicletas.]

    geral.
I study English every day.       My mother studies  French at university.
[Eu estudo inglês todo dia.]     [Minha mãe estuda francês na universidade.]
I play the piano.     She plays the piano.

mais freqüência do que as não contraídas.

  • Perceba
Do you like your teacher?

auxiliar. Caso contrário, todo o complemento da frase é
    necessário.
Do we live in Rio de Janeiro?
Yes, we do (curta)
Yes, we live in Rio de Janeiro (longa)
Does she speak Japanese?
Yes, she does.
No, she doesn’t speak Japanese.

a 3ª pessoa do singular (he has, she has, it has),  funciona como os demais verbos na forma interrogativa.
Does he have a new car?
Yes, he does.
No, he doesn’t.
Does she have a pet?
Yes, she does.
No, she doesn’t.
